Alaskan coyote have been blamed for the decline in the Dall sheep population. Having primarily feasted on hares, when the hare numbers fell, coyotes turned their sites on the lamb (offspring) of the Dall.
The first piece of jewelry I ever created was a pair of simple, single-quill American porcupine earrings made for one of my very best friends and long time adventure buddy to commemorate one of our silly encounters on a cross country trip from Florida to Alaska back in 2016. I never knew it would spark the interest of so many others that appreciate finding unique and desirable ways to create art from Nature.
Bison were introduced to Alaska in 1928. Twenty-three buffalo were brought in from the National Bison Range in Montana to the Delta River area in Alaska’s interior and in just 20 years, the number grew to 400. Today, 4 herds totaling about 900 buffalo, range freely in the state. Hunting is used to manage the size of these herds and have become among the most popular drawing hunts in Alaska. Each year roughly 15,000 hunters apply for about 100 permits, and on average about 74 bison are harvested.
The Otolith of the infamous Alaskan yellow eye rockfish. After many years of catching, dining and enjoying the remarkable bright orange colors of these beautiful fish, I’ve come up with a collection of their ivory earbones whose shape reminds me of a feather. Smaller in size, customize these with your favorite accent like the copper from the ancient mining city of a Jerome, Arizona as pictured.
Over the years, my adventures have led me to many places and interesting sites. I’ve trekked across ancient glaciers, fished all over the world, met the most amazing people but, of all my excursions, I still get giddy like a young child waking up Christmas morning when I’m out on a hike, in the middle of nowhere, and come across a find of the most unusual kind. I absolutely LOVE coming across sheds I find from the antlers that have fallen from a large game animal signifying the end of their rut.
Occasionally, I get really lucky, and come across the whole carcass of an animal that died of natural causes. Whether they are antlered, horned or neither, tunnel vision leads me to create pieces of art just waiting to emerge.

I spotted this beauty in Montana, already deceased and ready for a home appreciative of its value in life as well as in death. After much debate, I decided to sell him as there clearly just isn’t enough room in the van for one more keepsake. Shipped off to his new owner on the east coast, he will adorn an office wall of a local dentist whom fell in love with the piece almost as immediately as I did.
On a whim, this longhorn was found at the strong urging of my request for a few friends to join me in the scavenging of the Allapattah Flats in southern Florida. To assist in the clearing of naturally deceased cattle, a permit was purchased and several trophies found, cleaned and turned into beautiful creations for purchase. This piece has sold and currently resides above the mantle as a unique and eccentric focal piece for a beautiful family in Tampa, Florida.
Obtained from a local sheep farmer in Monroe, Utah, home of Mystic Hot Springs, the story behind this piece can be found in the blog section of this website. With an ombre finish and flakes of 23 karat gold leaf, “Curly” as he has been dubbed, has relocated from my workshop after a fan fell in love with the unique look and vibe of this fabulous new talking piece for her home.
The bison is renowned as the U.S. national mammal. Through my position as Ranch Manager for Go Roam Free, LLC, a ranch in western Montana focused on the regenerative and sustainability of the native grasslands and prosperity of the American buffalo, I am able to procure skulls of multiple sizes and various pricing to offer you either sanitized and cleaned, as pictured, or painted to your desired specifications.
One of the first set of Longhorns I’ve acquired off a ranch in Texas which, for years sat in my studio collecting more dust. For some time, it took multiple passes with a hand sander and different techniques like wet sanding, to get them to a finished look that I was happy with. Created with love for a longtime friend, I managed to conceptualize a piece that would sit along side a fireplace mantle or perhaps decorate a home or office in some unique way. Truly a one-of-a-kind statement piece.
